I recently purchased a tape by a Shaykh who in his speech, mentioned that a person`s du`a will not be accepted if they do not pray their salaah five times per day?

Table of Contents

In the name of Allah the most Beneficent and Merciful.

Allah has instructed Muslims to perform some acts which are obligatory. If these acts are missed deliberately then their other prayers are suspended until they perform repentance. You cannot accept that a person would get a reward in the workplace but yet does not do his basic duties. Whilst hope should not be lost with Allah a person should also not try to abuse their position and believe that whatever they do they can still have their prayers accepted as Allah`s mercy surpasses His anger.

In the hadith it has been stated

Abdullah ibn Amr al Aas reported Allah`s Messenger as saying “there are three kinds of people whose prayers will not be accepted by Allah. A leader whose people dislike him, a master who enslaves a person after being freed and a person who performs prayer after it`s proper time (Delays deliberately) [Abu Dawood]

Also;

Allah`s Messenger also said “When a person neglecting his prayers meets Allah, He will disregard any of his good deeds since he neglected the prayer” (Tabarani)

If a person who makes their Salaah Qadha deliberately has their Dua rejected then what about the one who totally neglects it?

Of course Allah knows best
