Madrasah Teacher Salaries

As we lead VISION2025, we still have a responsibility to ensure that we are currently maintaining financial sustainability. There is much needed support required financially to be able maintain our current investments in teaching and facilities. Arguably the most important activity we carry out is the teaching of our youth, ensuring they are well equipped for this life as well as preparing for the hereafter. In what is an increasingly conflicting Society where values can become confused, it is our duty to provide the right facilities and scholars who can support us in protecting our younger generation. The unfortunate reality today is that madrasah fees alone do not cover the running costs and we have to rely on donations to cover the shortfall each month. Insha Allah by contributing to this fund, you will be rewarded greatly and gain the satisfaction of making a difference to our next generation. In line with quality improvements, we have increased the salaries of all our teachers both male and female. We are currently in a deficit of £40,000 per annum. Our options are to increase fees at the mosque or ask for regular direct debits from local individuals to supplement these. Once our enterprise schemes are set up with VISION 2025 and the Light Community Hub, we would be able to fund the teachers salaries through this in full. As a reality check, our parents and the community need to understand that to deliver the best in class education, we need English speaking teachers who are able to better connect with our children. The modern teaching approach is not just to educate our children, but also to mentor and nurture our children so that they are confident with their identities as British Muslims. To source British educated teachers and to ask them to teach with minimum salary is unreasonable, unsustainable and not practical. In fact, some of our British born teachers are teaching without taking any salary at all and offering their services Mon-Fri as a form of worship and charity! As such, this Fund, will help support and supplement their salaries to attract and retain much needed teachers.
